My family has a Thanksgiving tradition of going around the table and saying at least one thing for which each member is thankful. This year, I am may take up more time than usual. I am a very blessed person and there are things I haven’t even acknowledged to myself, yet.
First of all, I am pleased that Americans are paying more attention than ever to the environment. We may have a long way to go, compared to the rest of the world, but we are hearing about the issues and efforts more than ever. Our awareness and consciousness is higher than ever before. As we plan for the holidays, make sure you are supporting local farmers or participate in community supported agriculture (CSA). Use eco-friendly products whenever possible and when buying gifts, make sure that are sustainable in your loved ones’ lives and also for the planet.
Another thing I am thankful for is the successful launch of the Green Scout Report – committed to bringing you the latest in eco business news, company profiles and lifestyle tips. The first few months have been tremendous and I am SO extremely grateful for your support and readership. I am also extremely grateful and humbled from all of the support I have received from the individuals and companies I have been working with and also the on-line media.
And of course there are my family and friends. The people we choose to surround ourselves with make up our personal environment and we need to be as considerate and kind to them as we are to the earth.
Starting next week, I will be giving away very stylish eco gifts every week on Green Scout Report to show my friends and Green Scout readers how much I appreciate their support and their commitment to the sustainability of our planet. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving to you and your family!
What are some of the things for which you are thankful this holiday season? How do you say thank you?
